Senate President Mircea Abrudean stated on Monday that he does not believe that there will be any parliamentarians from the governing coalition who will vote for the motion of censure, noting that this is a political but useless move.
„It is a test for sure, as I said with the other motions. In particular, the motions of censure represent a test for the coalition. I don’t think there will be any problems, I don’t think there will be any parliamentarians from the governing coalition who will vote for a motion of censure against the Government supported by this coalition. It is a political move, but useless and without any purpose. Apart from generating debates in Parliament, there will be no other result,” Abrudean specified.
Asked if there will still be PSD MPs who will vote for this motion of censure, Abrudean said: „It is certainly a bad signal if there are such demonstrations, but I don’t think there will be.”
„Any dissatisfaction of any member of parliament from this coalition can be managed through dialogue, not through demonstrations at the vote in the event of a motion of censure. But, I repeat, I don’t think we will get there,” Abrudean also said.
The motion of censure „Romania is not for sale – without progressives in government” is to be debated and voted on Monday, in the reunified plenary of Parliament.AGERPRES
