Romanian Inteligence Service conducts anti-terror exercise to check institutional cooperation when many unknowns involved

Published on

The anti-terror exercise conducted on Tuesday by the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) was designed to check the institutional co-operation and communication in instances where many unknowns are involved, according to Agerpres.

According to SRI, it is an annual exercise of the organisations making up the National System for the Prevention and Combating of Terror.

„It is taking place dynamically in several locations in the country. To be as veridic and useful as possible for the participants, we cannot reveal the exact locations where there will be incidents. In the scenarios that we are putting into practice today, we have considered a case study relevant in recent years in many terror attacks in Europe and beyond. It is about lone attackers in a rapid process of radicalisation acting randomly in very crowded areas and who later withdraw from the scene of the crime. The main objective of the exercise is to check institutional co-operation and communication in instances where many unknowns are involved.”

SRI on Tuesday morning reported that an anti-terror exercise will be conducted in several locations in Bucharest City and the counties of Giurgiu and Brasov using exercise ammunition and pyrotechnic devices.
