Published on

Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca stated that the government is set to adopt two decisions at its meeting on Wednesday, which are related to the continuation of the infrastructure development works in the ports of Constanta and Galati, according to Agerpres.

„We have two government decisions, by which we will ensure that the infrastructure development works in the two ports of relevance will continue. And I’m talking about the port of Constanta, where we are discussing investments worth around 5 billion lei, which are specifically intended for both public services and and the development of the railway component, being about 250 kilometers of railway, which ensures the continuation of the operational development of the port of Constanta,” said Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, at the beginning of the Government meeting.

At the same time, he showed that regarding the port of Galati, it is about investments that will ensure the development of the multimodal transport component.

„The Port of Galati has acquired special relevance at this moment with the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine and the support that our country provided by re-operating the railway from Galati to Giurgiulesti, but at the same time we must see the big project through which we ensure the connectivity between the Danube and Rhine rivers. It is a component of European transport, it is part of a European transport programme and we ensure all the prerequisites for this objective to be fulfilled,” the head of Government also mentioned.
