The Government will approve an emergency ordinance that will keep the electricity price for household consumers at 0.68 lei for those who consume up to 100 kWh per month, 0.80 lei for those who consume between 100 and 255 kWh per month, and those consumers who exceed the 255 Kwh monthly consumption threshold will pay 1.3 lei per Kwh, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca stated, according to Agerpres.
„It is a Government meeting in which we pass two very important documents. It is about an emergency ordinance by which we ensure the energy purchase mechanisms, so that, as we committed, we ensure the protection of the population and the economy. We are keeping the price of electricity for household consumers of 0.68 lei for those who consume up to 100 Kwh, 0.80 lei for those who consume between 100 and 255 Kwh,” PM Ciuca stated, on Friday, in the beginning of the Government meeting.
He added that the price of 1 leu/Kwh for SMEs will also be maintained.
The Prime Minister mentioned that the price for large consumers was set at 1.3 lei/kWh.
„The novelty that appears through the introduction of this mechanism and, certainly, the changes that will be made in Parliament to Ordinance No.119, is that we shall ensure a price of 1.3 lei for large consumers. Moreover, household consumers who consume over 255 Kwh will benefit from the same price of 1.3 lei with the specification that, different from the previous provisions, those who consume more than 255 Kwh will pay the first 255 Kwh at the value of 0.80 lei,” PM Ciuca stated.
