The total operating revenues achieved in the period January-September 2022 saw an increase of 114pct compared to the same period of the previous year, to 4.884 billion RON, mainly triggered by the revenues from transport and other revenues from the energy market in the context of the decrease in the amount of electricity delivered to consumers, as well as the significant increase in revenues achieved on the balancing market.
At the same time, total operating expenses (including depreciation) were higher in the mentioned period by 101pct compared to the similar period of the previous year, exceeding 4.388 billion RON.
EBITDA increased by 149pct, up to 659 million RON.
„For the next period, no significant price drops on the energy market are estimated,” the report states.
The amount of energy charged in the first nine months was 39.50 TWh, down by almost 6pct compared to the same period in 2021, while the amount of energy transported decreased by 1pct, down to 32.17 TWh.
According to the report, the tariffed amount represents the amount of electricity extracted from the public interest electricity networks (the transmission network and the distribution networks), less electricity exports, and the transported amount – the amount of energy physically transported in the transmission network.
Transelectrica is the main transport and system operator in Romania, ensuring electricity exchanges between Central and Eastern European countries, as a member of ENTSO-E (European Network of Transport and System Operators for Electric Energy).
