President Klaus Iohannis on Tuesday welcomed, at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Bucharest, Jose Antonio Hernandez Perez-Solorzano, who presented his letters of credence, with the two high officials reconfirming on the same occasion both parties’ commitment to strengthening bilateral strategic partnership in all its dimensions, according to Agerpres.
During the meeting, President Iohannis wished Ambassador Perez-Solorzano success in carrying out his mandate, assuring him of the full support of the Romanian authorities in this regard.
„The President of Romania welcomed the excellent level of bilateral relations and the substantial collaboration at all levels and in many fields, including the high level of economic and commercial cooperation, with the Kingdom of Spain being a strategic partner and a close friend of our country,” informed the Presidential Administration in a press release to AGERPRES.
According to the same source, during the discussion, the commitment of both parties to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two states, in all its dimensions, was reconfirmed as an important tool for the overall development of the Romanian-Spanish cooperation at the bilateral, European and international level.
The head of state emphasized the very good coordination on topical European issues, including those regarding energy security.
He also mentioned the importance of social, cultural and human ties between the two countries, enriched by the presence of an important Romanian community in the Kingdom of Spain, very well integrated in the local society.
„The President of Romania also voiced his appreciation for Spain’s contribution to the strengthening of NATO’s Eastern Flank, including for the military presence and the air police missions carried out by the Spanish aviation in our country,” the Presidential Administration also shows.
