Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca reiterated that the Government, through the relevant ministries, has been in permanent contact with the Polish authorities and was part of the entire analysis process, together with NATO partners, after the incident on Tuesday evening, when two missiles hit Poland’s territory, with new conclusions about the situation to be presented on Wednesday, after the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at level of Permanent Representatives, according to Agerpres.
„Before starting the government meeting, I would like to refer to the incident last evening, when two missiles hit the territory of Poland. I want to reiterate that since last night, together with the relevant ministries and institutions, I have been in constant contact with both the Polish authorities, as well as with our partners from the North Atlantic Alliance. I carried out and was part of the entire analysis process and this morning, at 11:00 Romanian time, the meeting of the North Atlantic Council is due to take place at ambassador level and depending on the analysis and the conclusions presented, we will communicate what’s to come,” declared Nicolae Ciuca.
NATO will hold a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at level of Permanent Representatives on Wednesday morning, from 10:00 am local time (9:00 GMT), to discuss the explosion in eastern Poland, near the border with Ukraine, resulting in two deaths, two NATO officials and a European diplomat told Reuters.
The meeting of ambassadors of NATO Member countries will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who will present the results of the discussions in a press conference, scheduled to start at 12:30 pm (11:30 GMT), the North Atlantic Alliance said in a press release.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday that a „Russian-made projectile” arrived on its territory, killing two people.
