Unemployment rate stagnates at 1.06% in Bucharest in October

The unemployment rate in Bucharest stagnated at 1.06pct at the end of October, compared to the previous month, with 12,963 unemployed being registered, according to data published by the Municipal Agency for Employment (AMOFM) on Thursday, Agerpres reports.

According to the centralized data, 6,718 of the total number of people without a job are women.

At the same time, among the 12,963 persons registered in the AMOFM Bucharest records, 1,192 were beneficiaries of unemployment benefits, and 11,771 were unemployed without benefits.

Regarding the structure of unemployment by age group, most of them fell into the category between 40 and 49 years old (3,533 people), followed by people between 50 and 55 years old (2,944), in the category 30 – 39 years old ( 2,858), over 55 years old (2,224 people), between 25 and 29 years old (1,199 people) and under 25 years old (205 people).

Also, the unemployed with high school education have the highest share in the total number of persons registered in the records of AMOFM Bucharest (37.11pct). There follow people with higher education degrees (24.52pct), while 17.86pct of the registered unemployment have secondary school education, the unemployed who graduated from vocational school/arts and trades account for 16.51pct, while people with post-secondary education account for 3.28pct and those with primary education and no education represent 0.72pct.

According to the same source, the structure of the registered unemployed according to employability level, established by profiling, is as follows: 1,843 people very difficult to employ, 4,280 difficult to employ, 3,782 moderately difficult to employ and 3,058 easily employable.
