Romania’s and Spain’s Governments shall gather on Wednesday, in Castellon de la Plana, in a first joint meeting, according to Agerpres.

„The joint meeting of the Romanian and Spanish Governments marks a moment of increased symbolic value, from a double perspective. It is the first joint intergovernmental meeting, also foreshadowing the 10th anniversary in 2023 of the establishment of the Romanian-Spanish Strategic Partnership. Apart from being a strategic partner, Spain is also a close friend of Romania. Throughout the years, we have managed to build a relationship based on mutual trust, a substantial, dynamic political dialogue and a constructive and open approach,” Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca stated.
He highlighted the economic and sectorial cooperation of Romania and Spain, mentioning that both countries have similar approaches on several strategic files in EU and NATO context.
According to PM Ciuca, the bilateral ties are even closer due to the very strong, well-integrated and very active community of almost 1 million Romanians who contributes to the development of the Kingdom of Spain’s society and economy.
On the sidelines of the joint meeting, a series of memorandums of understanding shall be signed regarding sectoral cooperation in areas such as labour and social protection, political consultations in the area of foreign affairs, training of diplomats, culture, cooperation in emergency situations, agriculture and health.
