Loans to non-government sector granted by credit institutions decrease by 0.3%, in October

At end-October 2022, loans to non-government sector granted by credit institutions decreased by 0.3 percent (or 1.6 percent in real terms) from September 2022 to RON 363,591.0 million. RON-denominated loans, according to the data of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), Agerpres reports.

RON-denominated loans, representing 70.3 percent of total volume of loans to non-government sector, went down by 0.8 percent, whilst foreign currency-denominated loans, holding 29.7 percent of total loans to non-government sector, grew 0.9 percent when expressed in RON (1.6 percent when expressed in EUR).

Credit to general government increased 0.8 percent in October 2022 from the previous month, to RON 166,450.0 million. In year-on-year comparison, this indicator expanded by 5.3 percent (down 8.7 percent in real terms).

At end-October 2022, broad money (M3) amounted to RON 580,835.8 million, down 0.2 percent (or 1.4 percent in real terms) month on month. In year-on-year comparison, broad money rose by 7.0 percent (down 7.2 percent in real terms).
