ForMin Aurescu to participate on in OSCE Ministerial Council organized in Lodz, Poland

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, will participate, on Thursday, in the 29th session of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which will take place in Lodz, in Poland, in the context of this country’s holding the Acting Chairmanship of this Organization, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) release sent to Agerpres informs.

„The meeting of the Ministerial Council of the OSCE takes place in the context of the biggest security crisis in Europe after World War II, caused by the Russian military aggression on Ukraine. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the participating states will assess the security environment in the OSCE space and they will address the topic of the Organization’s future activities”, the quoted source states.

During the debates occasioned by the OSCE Ministerial Council, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs will reaffirm the commitment to supporting efforts to strengthen the role of the OSCE in the current security context. Also, the head of Romanian diplomacy will reiterate the condemnation in the strongest terms of Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine and will point to Romania’s support for international efforts to bring the guilty to justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.

The meeting will be an opportunity to reaffirm Romania’s full solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, including highlighting Romania’s multidimensional support for Ukraine. In the context of the OSCE meeting at ministerial level, the head of Romanian diplomacy will express Romania’s firm support for the role of the OSCE in resolving protracted conflicts and will highlight the importance of the full implementation, by all participating states, of the commitments assumed on the three dimensions of the OSCE (political – military, economic and environmental, human).
