Romania’s hourly labour cost up 10.89% in Q3

In Quarter 3 of 2022 compared to Quarter 3 of 2021, the adjusted hourly labour cost (working days adjusted) registered an increase rate of 10.89pct, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Agerpres reports.

As compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the hourly labour cost (working days adjusted) increased in all economic activities.

The most significant increases of the hourly labour cost (working days adjusted) were found in other service activities (18.70pct), mining and quarrying (17.57pct), accommodation and food service activities (16.76pct), in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (16.16pct), respectively.

Compared to the analysed period, the lowest increases of the hourly labour cost (working days adjusted) were noticed in human health and social work activities (4.41pct), education (4.28pct) and public administration (3.70pct).

As compared to Quarter 2 of 2022, the adjusted hourly labour cost (working days adjusted) registered an increase rate of 0.63pct.

As against the Quarter 2 of 2022, the most significant increases of the hourly labour cost (working days adjusted) were found in education (18.79pct), due to school holiday and, consequently, of the reduction of the time actually worked, in mining and quarrying (7.53pct), in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (2.17pct), respectively.
