Croatia announces that it has obtained the green light to enter the Schengen Area on January 1

Croatia announced on Thursday that it got the green light to enter the Schengen Area on January 1, AFP and Reuters report, Agerpres read.

The decision was taken within the Council of Justice and Internal Affairs which takes place in Brussels and was made public by the representatives of Croatia at the EU.

„The last step has been taken! The Council’s decision has been adopted. It is now officially confirmed that Croatia will join the Schengen Area on January 1, 2023,” stated the Permanent Representation of Croatia to the EU on Twitter.
