Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca emphasizes importance of maintaining empathy and spirit of solidarity with Ukraine

Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca declared, on Monday, in southern Craiova, that the most important thing, at this moment, is for Romania to continue to maintain „empathy and the spirit of solidarity” with Ukraine, according to Agerpres.

The Prime Minister was asked how important critical thinking is for a soldier and if there is an answer that our country can give to Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, who criticized Romania for helping Ukraine.

„With regard to the criticisms of others, I want to tell you this much, we have an assumed duty from the Romanian citizen, and you saw how beautifully and how well the citizens of Romania reacted when the conflict in Ukraine began. At this moment, for all of us, the most important thing is to continue to maintain this empathy and spirit of solidarity, and I am convinced that everything we will do from here on, through the measures we take, so that citizens are protected, the economy is protected and we have all the measures taken so as to ensure the security and safety of the citizen, is what I think can matter more than one voice or another that criticizes us today,” stated Ciuca.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the voice of its spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, urged the Romanian authorities to publicly admit that they are sending weapons to Kyiv and to stop hiding behind generalities such as „humanitarian assistance”, show some of her statements posted on the Russian ministry’s website, mid.ru.
