The government approved an emergency ordinance that prolongs the validity of the digital COVID-19 vaccine certificates, issued and to be issued, until June 30, 2023, according to Agerpres.

According to a press release of the government, the ordinance modifies art. 1 paragraph (12) of GEO 68/2021 regarding the adoption of measures for the implementation of the European framework for the issuance, verification and acceptance of the digital certificate of the European Union regarding COVID in order to facilitate free movement during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The normative act, approved at the proposal of the Ministry of Health, provides that the validity of the digital COVID-19 vaccine certificates issued and that will be issued be extended after December 31, 2022, until June 30, 2023, according to the European regulation.

„In this way, the harmonization of domestic legislation with European legislation is ensured, respectively with the provisions of (EU) Regulation no. 2022/1034 of the European Parliament and of the Council of June 29, 2022, modifying (EU) Regulation no. 2021/953 regarding the framework for the release, verification and the acceptance of interoperable certificates of vaccination, testing and cure of COVID-19 (the EU digital certificate regarding COVID) to facilitate free movement during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the same source added.
