2.8 bln RON worth of state aid approved in 2022 for 65 major impact investment projects

The Finance Ministry approved this year 2.8 billion RON worth of state aid for 65 investment projects totaling approximately 8 billion RON and which will generate more than 9,500 new jobs, the Finance Ministry informs, according to Agerpres.

„State aid financing was granted through the two schemes managed by the Finance Ministry under Government Decision No. 807/2014 establishing state aid schemes aimed at stimulating investments with a major impact on the economy, and Government Decision No. 332/2014 on the establishment of a state aid scheme to support investments that promote regional development by creating jobs,” the Finance Ministry said in a release on Friday.

The activity fields of the beneficiary investment projects are automotive, food, aeronautics, the manufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment, the manufacturing of plastic items, construction and manufacturing of construction materials, waste recycling, HoReCa, medical services and the IT industry.

Under Government Decision No. 807/2014, as many as 50 investment projects received total funding worth 6.58 billion RON; they are expected to generate 5,426 new jobs, and the approved state aid amounts to over 2.19 billion RON. The investment projects will contribute over 3.15 billion RON to regional development, through additional taxes and fees funneled to the budget.

Under Government Decision No. 332/2014, a number of 15 investment projects were approved for financing with a total amount of over 1.35 billion RON, which will create 4,162 new jobs. State aid worth a total of 567.242 million RON was also approved for these projects that will contribute over 1.65 billion RON to regional development through additional taxes and fees to the budget.
