469 people who were subject of alerts entered into Schengen Information System, detected by Police

In the last week, the Romanian police and those from the territory of the Schengen member states detected 469 people, 43 vehicles and 43 documents that were the subject of alerts entered into the Schengen Information System, a press release sent to Agerpres by the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police reads.

„Thus, 334 people who are the subject of alerts in the SIS (Schengen Information System) were located on the territory of our country, following the additional exchange of information through the SIRENE Bureau of the International Police Cooperation Center – the Romanian General Police Inspectorate. The Romanian police officers implemented 14 European arrest warrants, they found 68 people flagged by the member states as having refused entry or stay in the Schengen territory, 151 people who were wanted in order to participate in a judicial procedure and 12 people who were reported as missing by the partners in the Schengen states,” the press release states.

The source also says that 27 documents were seized from the territory of Romania and 43 vehicles and 2 registration plates were found, which were wanted by the partners in the Schengen area to be confiscated or used as evidence in legal proceedings.

„At the same time, 135 persons wanted by the Romanian authorities were identified by their foreign partners on their territory, following the exchange of information through the SIRENE Bureau. Of these, 17 were being pursued by the Romanian Police, based on European arrest warrants, 18 were reported by the member states as having refused entry or stay in the Schengen territory, another 14 people were wanted for participation in a judicial procedure, and 7 were reported missing by the Romanian authorities. At the same time, the foreign partners identified on their territory 16 documents wanted by the Romanian authorities, in order to make it unavailable or to be used as evidence in criminal proceedings,” the statement also says.
