Optional pension funds’ assets amount to 3.58 bln RON in November, up 9% vs November 2021

Voluntary pension funds (Pillar III) reached assets worth 3.58 billion RON, on November 30, 2022, up 9 pct compared to the level recorded in the same period of the previous year, according to the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) data, Agerpres reports.

„Most investments were made locally (93 pct), most of them being RON-denominated (90 pct),” the institution’s report states.

On this type of pensions, state securities held the largest share of assets, 2.281 billion RON, respectively 63.67 pct, followed by shares – with 852.279 million RON (23.79 pct) and corporate bonds – with 151.081 million RON (4.22 pct of total assets).

According to the source, at the end of November 2022, the voluntary pension funds counted for 619,600 participants.

Aegon Essential, Azt Moderato, Azt Vivace, BCR Plus, BRD Medio, Generali Stabil, NN Activ, NN Optim, Pensia Mea and Raiffeisen Acumulare are active in Pillar III.
