Trade between Romania and Mexic increased by almost 20% in the first 10 months of 2022

Răzvan Pîrcălăbescu, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Romanian Embassy in Mexico, announced for ecopoliticnews.com an increase in trade between Romania and Mexico in the first 10 months of 2022 by 19,97% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a value of 295,08 million EURO.

The export of Romanian goods reached the value of 202,19 million EURO in the first 10 months of 2022, increasing by 17,37% compared to the same period of the previous year. Therefore, the import of Mexican goods was at the level of 92,89 million EURO, up 26,02%.
Taking into consideration the trade balance sector, Romania has been benefiting in the first 10 months of this year from a surplus of 109,29 million EURO.

In the first 10 months of 2022, the most important goods exported to Mexico were represented by:

  • Machines and devices, electrical equipment and their parts, which totaled 80,14 million euros;
  • Vehicles, aircraft, vessels and auxiliary transport equipment in the amount of 29.31 million euros;
  • Common metals and articles from common metals, worth 25,10 million euros;
  • Plastic materials, rubber and rubber articles, worth 22,86 million euros;
  • Wood, charcoal and wooden articles, cork and cork works in the amount of 11,24 million euros.

Răzvan Pîrcălăbescu estimates an increase in bilateral commercial relations in 2023 and an increase in Romanian Foreign Direct Investments – FDI, because of all major international rating agencies like, Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s and Fitch Ratings have assigned investment-grade sovereign ratings to the Romanian economy.

Romania is an important partner for Mexico and we are thinking that the best solution for mexican companies is to make an investment in Europe, for the followings indicators:

  • 6th among European Union Member States in terms of size and population;
  • One of the most competitive labor force in the European Union (€7.7);
  • 36th worldwide by GDP;
  • 37th place in the rank of World Trade Organisacion;
  • 99% of Romanian high school students study two or more foreign languages;
  • According to a recent analysis based on Statista data, Romania had had the highest economic growth between 2000 and 2022 among EU states, of almost 800%.
  • Diversified mix, important energy resources (classical and renewable), one of the lowest energy import dependency rates in the European Union;
  • The Industry of Tehnology sector contribute 7% to Romanian GDP, and because of this Romania income tax for employees is 0% in IT&C sector ;
  • 4th worldwide at Internet fixed broadband speed (Worldpopulationreview);
  • 51st place in the World Competitiveness Ranking -IMD;
  • 55th place in the Ease of Doing Business rankings – World Bank, ahead of Italy,
    Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Greece or Malta.
