Russia to keep developing nuclear weapons

Published on

Russia will continue to develop its nuclear triad of ballistic missiles, submarines and strategic bombers, because such weapons are the main guarantor of its sovereignty, Defense Minister Serghei Soigu said, Reuters reports, Agerpres reads.

„We will continue to develop the nuclear triad and maintain its combat readiness, as the nuclear shield was and remains the main guarantor of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state,” said Soigu.

„We will also increase the combat capabilities of the aerospace forces, both in terms of the action of fighters and bombers in areas where modern air defense systems operate, and in terms of improving unmanned aerial vehicles,” added the Russian minister, according to Reuters.
