Minister of European Investments and Projects Marcel Bolos declared on Friday in Oradea that, in a first for Romania, European Commission direct funding will be offered for Bauhaus-type projects that combine architecture and the environment for a harmonious development, according to Agerpres.
„These are new trend projects which the European Commission follows directly and allocates budgets for their implementation. The New Bauhaus is a first in the European Union, but especially for Romania. Two projects in Oradea caught my attention – the ‘Nufarul’ urban garden, a project estimated at 25 million euros, and the Iosia thermal garden, estimated at 20 million euros, both Bauhaus-type projects that can be financed directly through special EC allocations,” Marcel Bolos told a press conference.
According to the minister, another Bauhaus-type project is envisaged for the town of Beclean – Bistrita-Nasaud County, specifically a 10-hectare urban garden.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen supports the New European Bauhaus, stating that „it will be a driving force to bring the European Green Deal to life in an attractive, and innovative and human-centered way. It will be a movement based on sustainability, accessibility and aesthetics to bring the European Green Deal closer to people and make recycling, renewable energies and biodiversity natural.”
According to Ursula von der Leyen, the European Green Deal represents the EU’s new growth strategy.
