The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) plans to launch more than 200 space vehicles on more than 60 missions in 2023, according to a report published on Wednesday, Xinhua news agency reported, according to Agerpres.

The CASC report revealed the plans China has for its space science and technology activities for this year. According to the report, the Tianzhou-6 cargo vehicle mission and the Shenzhou-16 and Shenzhou-17 manned flight missions will take place in 2023 to improve China’s capabilities to reach, use and explore space.

The BeiDou-3 satellite navigation system will benefit from the launch of a group of three backup satellites, according to CASC. At the same time, the development of a new generation commercial satellite system will be accelerated this year.

The Chinese corporation has promised to release information about additional transport capabilities aboard its rockets and to offer launch opportunities for commercial companies.

In 2023, CASC will accelerate the fourth phase of its lunar exploration and planetary exploration program, and will also develop the Chang’e-7 lunar probe, the Tianwen-2 Mars probe, as well as a stationary orbit satellite for microwave detection.

China’s Long March-6C launcher will be launched on its maiden flight in 2023, while the Long March range of rockets will achieve a total of more than 500 launches this year, according to the report published by the CASC.
