Non-government loan, down by 0.2% in December 2022

The balance of non-government loan granted by credit institutions decreased in December 2022 by 0.2% compared to November 2022 (-0.6% in real terms), to the level of 363.608 billion RON, informs the National Bank of Romania through a statement, according to Agerpres.

Credit in RON, with a weight of 68.8% in the total volume of non-government credit, decreased by 1.1%, and foreign currency credit expressed in RON, with a weight of 31.2% in the total volume of non-government credit, increased by 1.7% (1.1% if the indicator is expressed in euros).

Compared to the same period of 2021, the non-government loan increased by 12.1% (-3.6% in real terms), due to the 6.6% increase in the component in RON (-8.4% in real terms reals) and of the 26.7% increase in the foreign currency component expressed in RON (similar evolution in the case of expressing the indicator in euros).

Government credit decreased by 1.1% in December 2022 compared to November 2022, up to 170.099 billion RON. Compared to December 2021, it decreased by 1.5% (-15.3% in real terms).
