The Economic Attaché of the Romanian Embassy in the United Mexican States, Răzvan Pîrcălăbescu, met with the management of the Mexican giant Bimbo, Liliana Mejia, VP Corporate Affairs and Mauricio Bailon, C.A. Manager, who, according to wall-street.ro, would have taken control of Vel Pitar, the leader of the bakery market in Romania.
Pîrcălăbescu: I continued the discussions with the Mexican business environment, through an extremely productive meeting with the management of Bimbo México, Liliana Mejia, VP Corporate Affairs and Mauricio Bailon, C.A. Manager, together with whom I discussed the opportunities offered by Romania, but also about the company’s projects, world leader in the bakery industry.
„Romania is a regional economic leader, with a GDP that is in constant growth, and that offers extremely attractive opportunities for the business environment,” Pîrcălăbescu said on Facebook.
Grupo Bimbo, a multinational from Mexico, valued at over 15 billion dollars, took control of Vel Pitar, the leader of the bakery market in Romania. Vel Pitar was controlled by the American investment fund Broadhurst, managed in turn by New Century Holdings (NCH Capital), which thus marks an important exit in the Romanian market. The transaction was confirmed for wall-street.ro by Vel Pitar representatives.
