Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca emphasized, on Wednesday, in the Government meeting, the need for a reorientation and reactivation of everything related to the research-innovation field and he asked the relevant minister, Sebastian Burduja to transpose the strategy approved by the Executive in the field into an action plan by mid-October, according to Agerpres.
„I participated together with the Minister of Education, the Minister of European Funds, the Minister of the Economy and I left last the Minister of Digitalization, because he was the host of this ‘Romania of the Future’ forum. I participated from the desire to be able to have a dialogue with those who are involved in everything related to the research field, so as to receive the data and information following a project, which was carried out with financing from the World Bank. There is data that we must use and that we must analyse at the level of each responsible ministry. The data is not all as we would like and we need to be able to reorient and reactivate everything that related to the research-innovation field. There is a will, there is the human resource and we have seen a whole series of projects, a whole series of innovations and inventions, but at the same time there are also problems that people, researchers, teachers, students, representatives of private companies have raised and we need to harmonize the entire framework, the legislative framework, so that we can facilitate development and give hope to all those who sacrifice their time and sacrifice everything they have, so that they can see their idea brought to fruition, and it would be a great pity if we do not succeed for all these projects to find their applicability in one field or another. I could see this side of people’s disappointment, because it was not possible to implement what they have achieved so far in practice,” declared Nicolae Ciuca.
In this context, he asked the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization to draw up a plan based on the strategy adopted by the Government in this field by mid-October.
