The Government adopted, at the proposal of the ministry of Energy, the Decision on declaring the investment project „Natural gas transport pipeline for the supply of CET Mintia” a project of national importance in the field of natural gas, Agerpres informs.

At the same time, the Ministry of Energy was designated as the competent authority responsible for facilitating and coordinating the authorization procedure for this important investment project, reads a press release of the ministry.

„In order to supply natural gas to the [western Romania – ed.n.] Mintia Thermal Power Plant, the National Natural Gas Transmission System needs to be expanded by constructing the natural gas transport pipeline for supplying CET Mintia, including electricity supply, cathodic protection and optical fiber,” emphasizes the cited source.

The proposed pipeline follows the route Hateg – Bacia – Mintia, and the location of the proposed natural gas transport pipeline is on the administrative territory of Hunedoara County.
