Romanian athlete Georgiana Carla Lirca won the silver medal on Thursday at the European Under-20 Wrestling Championships in Santiago de Compostela (Spain), while Georgiana Lavinia Antuca won silver, write Agerpres.
At cat. 55 kg, Lirca was defeated in the final by Turkish Tuba Demir. On Wednesday, in the quarterfinals, Lirca passed the Azeri Ruzanna Mamadova, and in the semifinals she defeated the Norwegian Felicitas Domajeva.
Georgiana Lavinia Antuca defeated Maria Cazalla Torres (Spain) in the final for bronze in cat. 50 kg. On Wednesday, Antuca defeated Reka Hegedus (Slovakia) in the preliminaries, passed Vestina Daniseviciute (Lithuania) in the quarterfinals, but lost the semifinal to Ukraine’s Viktoria Slobodeniuk.
Romania won on Tuesday its first medal in Santiago de Compostela, bronze through Patrik Iulian Gordan, in Greco-Roman, cat. 87 kg.
