The National Weather Administration (ANM) has issued a Code Orange warning for severe atmospheric instability in 23 counties, valid through Wednesday, and a Code Yellow advisory for 12 counties, valid until Thursday, at 02:00hrs, write Agerpres.
According to meteorologists, on Wednesday, from 14:00hrs until 23:00hrs, in the mountain area, southern Banat, most of Oltenia and Transylvania and north-western Moldavia there will be torrential downpours, thunderstorms, storms and hail of medium size, and in short intervals (1-3 hours) or through accumulation, the water quantities will be 30-40 l / sq m and isolated over 50-70 l / sq m.
The counties targeted by the Code Orange warning are the following: Suceava, Bistrita Nasaud, Harghita, Mures, Cluj, Covasna, Brasov, Sibiu, Alba, Valcea, Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinti, Caras-Severin, Hunedoara and, partially, Neamt, Bacau, Vrancea, Buzau, Prahova, Dambovita and Arges.
Furthermore, as of Wednesday, 12:00hrs, until Thursday, 02:00hrs, in Banat, Crisana, Maramures, Transylvania, Oltenia, the northern half of Moldavia, north-western Muntenia, as well as in the mountains, there will be periods of accentuated atmospheric instability. This will be manifested through rain, thunderstorms, short-lived wind intensities, storms and hail. In short intervals, the water quantities will be 20-25 l/sqm and isolated over 40 l/sqm.
Botosani, Iasi, Olt, Timis, Arad, Bihor, Salaj, Satu Mare and Maramures counties will be under the Code Yellow advisory, and partially the counties of Neamt, Bacau and Arges.
In the next few days, there will be specific phenomena of atmospheric instability in most areas of the country, the ANM mentions.
