The Embassy of Ukraine in Romania calls on citizens not to film and disseminate on social media and in the media videos of Russian drones hitting port infrastructure and the operation of Ukrainian air defence systems, so as not to increase the threat to the lives of people working and living in the towns on the Danube, write Agerpres.
„Russia continues to terrorize the Ukrainian peaceful population and to attack Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. In particular, on the night of August 16, Russian occupation troops again attacked the Odessa region, targeting the infrastructure of the Danube ports. As a result of enemy strikes, seven people were injured, warehouses and grain silos were damaged.
This once again confirms the cynical abuse of international humanitarian law by the Russian aggressor, its desire to undermine world food security by jeopardising the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products to those in need. With regret, today, we observe a dissemination on social media and in some media outlets of videos of drones hitting Ukrainian port infrastructure and the operation of Ukrainian air defense systems.
In the current conditions of Russian aggression, such videos represent a threat not only to the safe operation of the Danube ports, but also directly to the civilian population living in this region,” reads a press release of the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania sent on Wednesday. According to the diplomatic mission, „the Russian aggressor is actively monitoring the Internet and, by receiving additional information, is adjusting its attacks”.
„We call on everyone not to film and disseminate such videos on social media and in the media, so as not to increase the threat to the lives of people working and living in towns on the Danube,” reads the release.
