Seven confirmed cases of West Nile virus infection

Seven cases were confirmed with West Nile virus infection from the beginning of the surveillance period for this condition (June 6) until August 17, the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informed on Tuesday, write Agerpres.

At the same time, a case is probable. According to INSP, three deaths were recorded as a result of West Nile virus infection in the counties of Satu Mare, Ilfov and Dolj.

The cases of West Nile virus infection had the following distribution: two each in Bucharest and Dolj and Ilfov counties and one each in Satu Mare and Galati counties. A case of West Nile virus infection had double exposure – Bucharest and Tulcea County.
