A major missile attack was under way in Kyiv in the early hours of Monday morning, an AFP journalist reported, seeing intercepted projectiles in the sky and incandescent fragments falling over the city.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that buildings had been hit in the Podilskyi and Obolonskyi districts. Missile strikes were also reported by the authorities in Kharkiv, in the north-east.
In Kyiv, the head of the military administration, Timur Tkachenko, reported one injured person at this stage, saying that seven districts of the city had been attacked.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov also said the strikes had caused injuries, without giving an exact figure.
This attack comes as the United States and Iran have just announced that they had reached an agreement to end the war in the Middle East on all fronts.
