The President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, says that an Eugen Tomac government would be “a structure without the real power to implement reforms”.

“The PNL’s decision is clear, following the unanimous vote in the party’s leadership body: we do not support and we will not vote for the Eugen Tomac government. It is a structure without the real power to implement reforms. Romania needs stability and political commitment, especially since it would not be right for Romanians’ efforts to go to waste,” Abrudean wrote on Facebook.

The PNL National Political Bureau decided on Thursday not to support the investiture of the government proposed by designated prime minister Eugen Tomac.
