Senate President Mircea Abrudean extended a message of respect to educators on Friday, Teacher’s Day, emphasizing that the future is built, day by day, in classrooms and lecture halls.
‘Today, on Teachers’ Day, I extend my respect to all educators, teachers, and professors who dedicate their energy to shaping our children. The Romanian school system relies on the dedication of its teachers. Beyond the numbers, statistics, or reforms, beyond the obvious challenges facing the education system—which we have a duty to address responsibly—there remains the direct bond between teachers and students. For your perseverance, passion, effort, and dedication, I thank you and wish you a happy Teacher’s Day! The future is built, day by day, in classrooms and lecture halls,” Abrudean wrote on Facebook.
June 5 is officially designated Teacher’s Day by Law No. 289 of October 29, 2007. It is the birthday of the great educator Gheorghe Lazăr, the founder of modern Romanian education.
