Acting Prime Minister Catalin Predoiu on Monday stated that an aid package for the restoration of the Praid salt mine will be adopted by the government during its Monday meeting.
„We are granting an aid package for the restoration of the salt mine and possibly the restoration of the economic and social living conditions there. This is a line of action that will materialize in parallel with the clear establishment of a diagnosis regarding what happened in the salt mine. At this point, we are already working with underwater drones, we have co-opted the best experts, we have asked the minister of economy to create a group of experts to tell us exactly what is happening in the salt mine, what may happen in the future regarding the functionality of the salt mine,” said Predoiu, at the Palace of Parliament, before participating in the National Political Bureau of the PNL (National Liberal Party).
He stated that on Sunday evening the National Council for Emergency Situations adopted a decision to access a European mechanism for expertise.
„We have not ruled out the idea of co-opting a second or third opinion from experts from abroad and we have taken steps in this direction. Late last night, we adopted a decision of the National Council for Emergency Situations to access a European mechanism in terms of expertise. Attention: otherwise we have everything we need in logistical terms, but I would like to have a second opinion and I will look for a third opinion and quickly,” explained the interim prime minister.
