Acting president Ilie Bolojan on Sunday sent a message on the occasion of Romanians Abroad Day, in which he stated that the Romanian state has the obligation to be „present, attentive and open to the diaspora,” to listen, understand and build support policies for Romanian citizens abroad.
„Today is an important day for all those who have Romania in their hearts, wherever they are. Through the work, efforts, values and customs that you preserve in your families, you carry forward, even far from home, our identity as a people. Life away from home is not easy. You face challenges, you make sacrifices, but do not let yourself be discouraged. Romania needs you, not only as ambassadors of our identity, but also as partners in development projects. Whether you are entrepreneurs, professionals, artists or simple citizens, your experience and ideas can be part of the solutions,” Bolojan said in the message published on Facebook.
He pointed out that the diaspora represents Romania with honour.
„The Romanian state has the obligation to be present, attentive and open towards the diaspora. To listen, understand and build policies that support you. Thank you for keeping the Romanian community alive and for everything you do to represent our country with honour,” added the interim president.
