President of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) Toni Grebla announced that the campaign for Romania’s legislative elections starts on Friday, November 1, and will end on November 30 at 7:00 a.m., noting that all candidates must replace their pre-campaign promotional materials with those accepted by the law for this period.

According to Grebla, approximately 21,000,000 ballot papers for each the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate will be printed for the vote in the country, and 3,069,600 for overseas voting. There will also be 6,656 postal ballot papers for each chamber of Parliament.

Grebla specified that the Central Electoral Bureau approved on Wednesday all the candidate lists submitted by the political contenders, so that the drawing of lots are next to be organized at the county electoral offices to determine the candidates’ order on the ballots, and the electoral ballot templates be finalized.

„The list of the 950 polling stations approved for out-of-country voting is available on the website of the Permanent Electoral Authority and, probably, during the day it will be published in the Official Journal; it will also be posted for certain on the website of the Foreign Affairs Ministry,” Grebla added.

The AEP head also specified that over 7,000 electoral experts are entered in the dedicated Roster, and that there are sufficient human resources for election activities to unfold smoothly.

Grebla said that AEP owns the entire IT infrastructure for running the elections and the necessary measures were duly taken to install „the latest equipment for filtering out cyber fraud attempts.”
