The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) issued, on the night of Thursday to Friday, a RO-ALERT message for the population in the northern area of far eastern Tulcea County after which, the structures with the role of defense and monitoring of the border airspace spotted a group of UAVs (drones) heading towards targets on the Ukrainian territory on the border with Romania.
The RO-ALERT message was sent around 2:00 a.m. and was followed shortly after by the specific noises of airplanes flying over Romanian airspace.
„There were two calls to the 112 dispatch center in Tulcea, one to ask for information, and the second to report that they heard explosions in the northern area on Ukrainian territory,” the Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) mentioned.
The message sent to the population by IGSU appeals to calmness, and in case objects fall from the airspace, to respect the shelter and self-protection recommendations sent by the RO-ALERT message.
„The areas targeted by the attacks of the Russian Federation are on Ukrainian territory, a short distance from the border with Romania, and thus there is a possibility that certain objects, following the response of the Ukrainian army, will fall on Romanian territory. Once again we announce the people in the northern Tulcea County, but also those who arrive in the respective area as tourists, that no targets or areas on the territory of Romania are targeted,” the ISU Delta announcement also mentions.
