The Standing Electoral Authority (AEP) will organize, throughout Romania, 18,955 polling stations for the elections for the European Parliament and those for local public administration authorities, the AEP informs Friday in a press release.
The institution specifies that it administers the Register of Voting Sections in the country, a centralized database regarding the delimitation, numbering, seats and equipment of the voting sections.
The source says that, according to the law, the numbering of the polling stations in the country is updated by the AEP at the level of each county, respectively of the Bucharest municipality, starting with the locality of the county seat and continuing with those in municipalities, cities and communes, in their alphabetical order.
In municipalities with administrative-territorial subdivisions, the numbering is done respecting the order of these subdivisions, provided by law. The list of polling stations organized in the country, for the 9 June 2024 elections can be consulted on the website of the Standing Electoral Authority.
