Almost 3,100 companies, authorised individuals enter insolvency five months into 2024

The number of commercial companies and authorized individuals (PFA) entered insolvency in the first five months of this year was 3,091, up by 10.2% compared to the similar period in 2023, when 2,805 insolvencies were registered, according to the data published on the website of the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).

The most companies and PFA that entered insolvency, between January 1 and May 31, 2024, were registered in Bucharest, respectively 574, a decrease of 1.37% compared to the first five months of 2023.

By business, the largest number of insolvencies was recorded in wholesale, retail, motor vehicle and motorcycle repair, respectively 826 (plus 6.17% compared to the first five months of 2023), construction – 635 (plus 14.21 %) and in the manufacturing industry – 362 (plus 16.03%).
