Almost 80,000 people enter Romania on Thursday, including about 8,600 Ukrainians

The General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPR) informs that on Thursday, 79,974 people entered Romania through the border points, of which 8,601 were Ukrainian citizens, write Agerpres.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday, approximately 178,400 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, with more than 47,600 means of transport, went through the control formalities, both inbound and outbound, through the border points throughout the country.

Starting with February 10, 2022 (pre-conflict period), 4,146,192 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania.

The police found 78 illegal acts (49 crimes and 29 misdemeanors) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, and the value of the contravention fines applied amounts to over 24,300 RON.

Goods were seized for confiscation in the amount of approximately 597,750 RON.

On Thursday, 28 foreign citizens who did not meet the conditions provided for by law were not allowed to enter the country and 23 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave for various legal reasons.
