Alpha Bank Romania has entered into a partnership with the European Investment Fund (EIF) under which small and medium-sized companies can take out loans under flexible and competitive conditions, supported by the guarantees and expertise of the EIF, according to a press release from the bank.
„Based on our partnership with the EIF, we can offer companies and start-ups credit facilities with significantly lower costs than those usually offered, accessing the guarantee offered by the EIF to the tune of 30% and 70% of the funding value. The Competitiveness and Sustainability financial instruments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan implemented by Alpha Bank Romania, aim both to stimulate the generation and growth of added value at the level of the business environment and the transition to a green and sustainable economy. We are confident that under this partnership, we will offer customised solutions suitable to the activities of SMEs in order to capitalise on their growth potential, including through the implementation of projects with an innovative component,” Dragos Draghici, director within the SME Department of Alpha Bank Romania, is quoted as saying in a press statement.
The main beneficiaries of these financing solutions are SMEs that meet the European criteria, with up to 250 employees and an annual turnover of a maximum of EUR 50 million.
In December 2023, Alpha Bank Romania entered into a partnership with the European Investment Fund (EIF) for the implementation of financial instruments, such as portfolio guarantees. The two guarantee products are part of the pillar of financial instruments under Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and focus on the areas of sustainability and competitiveness. The SME Sustainability product is focused on green finance, aiming to adapt companies and business processes to climate change with a major impact on the quality of life. It encourages the efficient use of resources and contributes significantly to the European Union’s major objective of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
