Ambassador of Israel to Romania Lior Ben Dor underlined the importance of developing a very good education so that people can live in a strong society.
Participating in the 16th edition of the International Conference on Diplomacy and Global Affairs for students, „2DAY AMBASSADOR,” organised by the Laude-Reut Educational Complex, the ambassador said that education is „a patriotic act,” considering that students support „the national heritage,” thus strengthening their nation.
In Lior Ben Dor’s opinion, sports activities are part of national resilience and also represent „a diplomatic bridge” connecting countries.
At the same time, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Romania Victor Chirila expressed his concern about a world in which small and medium-sized countries „will lose their voice.” In his opinion, today’s world must be shaped by respecting Europe’s values: democracy, freedom, tolerance, solidarity and empathy. He also highlighted the need to build trust between countries, continents and alliances.
In turn, presidential advisor Luminita Odobescu believes that the current times are marked by global transformations, mentioning the war at the border and drawing attention to economic challenges, digital and social changes that authorities need to adapt to and react to.
Luminita Odobescu underscored that, in the face of such a period of challenges, authorities must remain calm, anticipate developments and be prepared, assess the situation and discuss with partners, starting from the national interest.
On the other hand, President of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee Mihai Covaliu said that sports have the power to unite people and highlighted its benefits: health, maintaining well-being and confidence in one’s own abilities. He also brought to mind that on April 6, the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace is celebrated.
Last but not least, President of the Israeli Olympic Committee Yael Arad encouraged the participants at the meeting to dare to follow their dreams and not give up on them. Yael Arad underscored that she was not born an Olympic champion, but she had a dream for which she worked very hard, even though it was not easy.
