According to a statement, the protest is taking place in response to “the deep dissatisfaction of employees with the new draft law on the remuneration of staff paid from public funds.”

The main reasons for the protest:

* Cutting allowances: The current draft law aims to significantly reduce the percentages for shift allowances, allowances for weekly rest days and public holidays, on-call allowances, as well as the allowance for particularly dangerous conditions.

* Lower net income: The proposed pay coefficients do not guarantee that current earnings will be maintained for a large part of staff, in the absence of the pay increases demanded by unions.
