Antonio Gutteres calls for „massive financial aid” to be given to Pakistan in the context of the floods that have killed over 1,300 people

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is calling for „massive financial aid” to Pakistan in the context of the „unimaginable” floods that have killed at least 1,391 people and disrupted the lives of some 33 million people, according to The Guardian, quoted by news.ro.

„It is difficult not to feel deeply moved to hear such detailed descriptions of the tragedy. Pakistan needs massive financial support. This is not a matter of generosity, it is a matter of justice,” Guterres said after landing in Sindh, according to a video released by the office of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Guterres visited several flood-ravaged regions of Pakistan on a two-day trip to raise awareness of the disaster in the country.
