Arrivals in tourist reception structures, increasing by 24.3% in the first quarter

The arrivals registered in tourist reception structures (including apartments and rooms for rent), in the period January 1 – March 31, 2023, totaled 2.412 million people, an increase of 24.3% compared to the corresponding period in 2022, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics published on Thursday, write Agerpres.

Of the total number of arrivals, in the mentioned period, the arrivals of Romanian tourists in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions represented 84.2%, while the arrivals of foreign tourists registered a percentage of 15.8%.

The net utilization index of tourist accommodation places in the first three months was 23.5% on total tourist accommodation structures (including apartments and rooms for rent), increasing by 3.2 percentage points compared to the period January 1 – 31 March 2022.

By county, the number of tourist arrivals in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions recorded higher values in the Municipality of Bucharest (400,2000 people), Brasov county (328,600 people) and Prahova county (139,600 people), and the overnight stays of tourists in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions (including apartments and rooms for rent) recorded higher values in Bucharest (816,500), Brasov county (628,500) and Prahova county (283,200).

The most foreign tourists staying in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions came from Italy (45,200 people), Israel (37,800 people) and Germany (34,700 people).
