Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday that he will talk about the Social Democratic Party (PSD) candidate for the presidential election after the June 9 elections, adding that he will not take part in the „book writing” competition, alluding to the announcement made by the chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Nicolae Ciuca on the launch of a book in June.
Ciolacu was asked what he thinks about the fact that the PNL is supporting Nicolae Ciuca in the presidential election and whether it is possible that the two parties in the coalition support the same person in the presidential election.
„After the 10th [of June – editor’s note] I will tell you, together with my PSD colleagues, the decision on the candidates. Until then, there is a competition, at the moment, to write books. I am not taking part in it,” said Ciolacu, after a visit to the 16 Februarie (February) Market in Bucharest.
PNL leader Nicolae Ciuca announced that he will launch his book „A soldier in the service of the country” in June, and the proceeds will be donated to charity initiatives.
„The pages of this book are about me. Not about the offices I have held, not about my public image, no balance sheet and no election manifesto. They are my thoughts on what the transition from army man to politician has meant. They are about my life, the one behind the lectern, the microphone or the TV,” Ciucă wrote on his website.
