President of the Senate, National Liberal Party (PNL) leader Nicolae Ciuc, says that the situation in Lebanon is becoming increasingly critical and the authorities in Bucharest must continue the evacuation operations of Romanians in that country, depending on the requests received.

„At the request of the 70 Romanians who asked for help, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defence have managed to successfully organize a first evacuation mission. The first evacuated Romanian citizens have already arrived home yesterday, October 3, thanks to the efforts and resources made available by MApN. Many other Romanians are still in Lebanon, and our authorities must continue these evacuation operations, depending on the requests received,” Ciucă wrote on Facebook on Friday.

He urged all citizens who have not yet requested support to do so as soon as possible.

„The safety of every Romanian must be a priority for Romania. The Government, through the relevant ministers, must organize evacuation flights to bring them home, away from the risks and dangers in the region,” the president of the Senate said.
