The population of northern Tulcea County received, on the night between Thursday and Friday, a RO-ALERT message regarding the possibility of objects falling on the national territory, amid the war in Ukraine.
The message was sent by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) during the night, and the population was urged to take shelter in safe areas for the next 90 minutes.
Shortly after the message was sent, the people of Tulcea could hear the noises specific to airplanes flying over the national airspace.
„We note that the role of the message is to inform and prevent the population in the area where it is transmitted and must be treated as such. During the night, a call was recorded to the single number 112 requesting information. We note that any citizen who feels in danger or notices something unusual can call the single emergency number 112 for help,” said the spokesperson for the Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate, Cristina Profir.
This is the first RO-ALERT message issued since the beginning of the year in the Tulcea County, amid the war in Ukraine.
