Average price of one hectare arable land in Romania stands at 41,624 lei/ha in 2023

The average price of one hectare of arable land in Romania was 41,624 lei/hectare (ha) in 2023. The lowest price was recorded in the North-East Region, at 35,303 lei/ha, while the highest value was reported in the Bucharest-Ilfov Region, with 61,360 lei/ha, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Additionally, the average price of permanent pastures increased approximately 7.5% nationwide in 2023 compared to the previous year.

Regarding the average price of one hectare of arable land in Europe, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) notes that it recorded significant variations in 2023. According to available data for 21 EU member states in 2023, the prices of arable land ranged from a minimum of 4,491 euro/ha on average in Croatia to a maximum of 283,039 euros/ha on average in Malta, while in Romania, the average price was 8,414 euro/ha.

The average price of permanent pastures in EU member states in 2023 ranged from a minimum of 1,986 euro/ha in Bulgaria to a maximum of 71,203 euro/ha in the Netherlands, while in Romania, the average price was 6,074 euro/ha.
