„Babes-Bolyai” University (UBB) of Cluj-Napoca is a national leader in drawing research funds through the Horizon Europe program.
„Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca reconfirms its leading position in Romanian research, maintaining first place at the national level among universities in Romania both in terms of funds attracted and in terms of the number of projects financed through the Horizon Europe program, since its launch in 2021 and to date. With a total of 12.56 million euros obtained and 34 projects implemented to date, UBB demonstrates excellence in accessing competitive funds and in carrying out impactful research projects,” reads a release sent by UBB on Tuesday.
According to the cited source and according to the official data updated in real time by the European Commission (https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/portal/screen/opportunities/horizon-dashboard ), UBB occupies the first position in Romania in the university category, respectively the second place at the national level in the ranking of all types of organizations, after the Executive Unit for Research Financing in Romania (UEFISCDI), which underlines the top position occupied by UBB in the Romanian academic landscape.
„This performance confirms UBB’s commitment to excellence in research and innovation. Through the sustained efforts of our academic community, the university actively contributes to scientific progress and to Romania’s integration into the European space of top research”, says the interim rector of UBB, Professor Adrian Petrusel PhD.
Horizon Europe is the European Union’s main research and innovation funding programme, with a total budget of approximately 95.5 billion euros for the period 2021-2027. Through its active involvement in this programme, UBB supports the development of innovative projects, collaborates with prestigious international partners and contributes to solving global challenges in multiple scientific fields.
